Africa Unite challenges government and public to protect foreign nationals in SA.

Africa Unite, a human rights organization, has called on the government and the public to protect foreign nationals living in South Africa from xenophobic attacks and discrimination. The organization said that foreign nationals faced constant threats and violence from some locals who accused them of taking their jobs and resources.

Africa Unite said that foreign nationals contributed to the economy and the social development of the country, and that they deserved respect and dignity. The organization said that it had been working with various communities and stakeholders to promote social cohesion and integration among South Africans and foreign nationals.

Africa Unite said that it had also been providing support and assistance to foreign nationals who had been affected by xenophobic attacks, such as the recent ones in Durban and Johannesburg. The organization said that it had helped some of the victims to relocate to safer areas, and that it had also provided them with food, clothing, and counselling.

Africa Unite said that it was concerned about the lack of action and accountability from the government and the law enforcement agencies to prevent and prosecute xenophobic attacks. The organization said that it had written to the Minister of Home Affairs, the Minister of Police, and the National Prosecuting Authority, to demand urgent intervention and justice for the victims.

Africa Unite said that it hoped that the government and the public would work together to create a peaceful and inclusive society, where foreign nationals and South Africans could live together in harmony. The organization said that it would continue to advocate for the rights and welfare of foreign nationals in South Africa.
